Claudio Abbado’s recording of Mozart Wind Concertos with Orchestra Mozart has been honoured at the 49th Record Academy Awards. Read a personal message from Maestro Abbado:

"We are very happy and grateful for this prize.

This recording is a concrete example of how making music ...together means listening and being generous - in giving the best of oneself, and in leaving others room to express themselves.

In this project the conductor, the soloists, and the orchestra are not only colleagues, but also human beings connected by bonds of friendship, united and supportive of each other, and sharing a common sensibility.

It makes us happy that the strong commitment of all musicians, and in particular the skill and virtuosity of Jacques Zoon, Alessandro Carbonare and Guilhaume Santana, are rewarded today with such a prestigious award."

The Record Academy Award, presented by the monthly magazine "Record Geijutsu" is one of the most authoritative awards in the Japanese classical music industry.
